Introducing Thales monthly digests
The idea behind this new series in our blog is to pierce together all the latest developments and important protocol upgrades in one place in a very condensed manner, so it can be consumed in just a few minutes. Some links are added when relevant for those who wish to dive deeper into any of the subjects mentioned.
For this first version, we’ll include the most relevant developments of 2023 so far until the end of April. If you are looking for a recap of 2022, then this is the one you want to read.
Without further ado, here it is the latest updates for:
Thales protocol
- Addition of XAU (Silver) and XAG (Gold) to both UP/DOWN and IN/OUT markets.
- THALES token deployed on Arbitrum with incentivized LP on Camelot
- THALES gamified staking deployed on Arbitrum
- Tale of Thales Metaverse launch ft some Synthetix ecosystem characters. You can play here.
- Thales Council election for the fifth period has ended. Almost 200 THALES stakers participated in choosing the new participants of the governance body of Thales DAO. This governance epoch will end at the end of August 2023.
- OP + THALES incentives are back on Optimism, now distributed weekly and pro-rata. You can check all the details and your current rewards for the period here.
- Upcoming: New UI/UX for Thales markets, Thales AMM open for liquidity providers
Overtime markets
- Volume on Optimism crossed the 10m+ sUSD volume mark
- Parlays now up to 8-markets per ticket
- New market types: Handicaps, Totals (over/under), and Double chance (all can be combined with money line markets in parlays)
- The biggest event ever (volume-wise) supported by Overtime has been the NFL Super Bowl Chiefs vs Eagles with 190k USD volume just on this event
- Overtime went live on Arbitrum on February 15th, and so far it already surpassed the 1M USD volume mark (in a bit more than 2 months)
- Successful bracket challenge for March Madness (both Optimism and Arbitrum)
- Ongoing Bi-weekly parlay competition live on Optimism and Arbitrum
- Ongoing fee rebate program on Optimism (up to 90% in OP + THALES)
- Depositing into Overtime’s sports AMM is now open to THALES stakers (Optimism and Arbitrum), you can check the results so far here
- An alternative front end that taps into Overtime’s contracts is in development by an independent team. The project is called Spongly.
- New vaults (automated positioning strategies based on pre-defined parameters): Parlay and Upsettor.
- New leagues added (all through Chainlink sports feeds): UEFA Europa League, J1 League, NCAAB, ATP games (Tennis), Esports (CSGO now, DOTA and LoL coming soon), Indian Premiere League (Cricket), Euro League (Basketball), Boxing, and just today some new soccer leagues (Copa Libertadores, Eredivisie, and Liga Portugal)
- Upcoming: Same Game Parlays, more sports, and leagues to be supported
